Sergeant Richard Charles Travis
His full name is Richard Charles Travis. He was born on 1884 and died on the 25th of July 1918. The medals he earned were the Victorian Cross medal, Military medal and Croix de Guerre medal (Belgium) and the Conduct medal. The wars he was in were, First World War, Gallipoli campaign, landing at Anzac Cove, Western Front and battle of the Somme. When he died he was buried at Eouin, France. When he was born he was born at Opotiki, New Zealand. One time he stole two machine guns and shot and killed eleven of his enemies. He was promoted to sergeant and command of the Otago Battalions recently formed sniper and observation section and his further actions led to the award of the Croix de Guerre.
